New / Hot Topics in the Startup Space

On November 1st, MBLA members were invited to a presentation by Me Scott Rozansky, partner at Dentons, on his practice focusing on services provided to startups. Students learned about the different legal challenges that startups face at the beginning of their operations, and how lawyers can assist with them.

Me Rozansky shared his thoughts on the venture opportunities that will emerge with the legalization of cannabis in 2018. The creation of this new market will create a tremendous amount of work for future lawyers looking to help startups navigate the complex regulatory frameworks of this new industry.

After the presentation, students had a chance to participate in a networking cocktail with several lawyers and articling students, where they learned more about the firm environment at Dentons.
